The CBCF/CITI Economic Empowerment Forum is a one day conference where participants have the opportunity to learn about a wide range of topics from leading financial experts, including debt management, poor credit, saving and investment, creating wealth, and more. These free workshops are designed to bring important financial matters and tangible skill sets to the forefront, with expert advice and solutions for different levels of readiness. In 2007, Economic Empowerment Forums were held in Philadelphia; Oakland, Calif.; and Miami and included presentations from Kelvin Boston, executive producer and host of Moneywise; best-selling author George C. Fraser; Sandra Thompson, director of supervision and credit protection, FDIC; and representatives of local financial services, credit counseling and community development organizations. Members of the Congressional Black Caucus are also present and actively engaged in the events. The series will be traveling to Newark, N.J., and Baltimore in 2008. Please visit the CBCF Web site for news and updates on the Economic Empowerment Forum series as well as information on how to register for upcoming forums. |
