$85,000 GRANT FROM THE UPS FOUNDATION
Washington, DC – The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation recently
received an $85,000 grant from The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm
of UPS (NYSE:UPS). The contribution will be used to support the Congressional
Internship Program.
Established in 1986, CBCF’s Congressional Internship Program allows
undergraduates to work in congressional offices and learn about legislation.

to connect interns with CBC Members and other African American leaders
and provide program participants vital experience and education in the
public policy arena.
CBCF’s Vice President of Research and Programs, Dr. Maya Rockeymoore
expressed enthusiasm about the grant. “We are overwhelmingly pleased
that the UPS Foundation has provided this grant. One of our primary goals
is to equip future leaders with the knowledge and experience they will
need to reach the next level academically and professionally. The UPS
Foundation’s grant will help us continue in that important work.”

identifies specific areas where its support clearly impacts social issues.
In 2003, The UPS Foundation distributed nearly $40 million worldwide through
grants that benefit programs and organizations such as the Congressional
Black Caucus Foundation and provide support for building stronger communities.

where we live and work. Philanthropy and employee volunteerism are a part
of the company’s Culture,’’ said Evern Cooper, president
of the UPS Foundation and Vice President of UPS Corporate Relations. ‘’Together
with our nonprofit partners, we work to make a positive impact on the
lives of people in need. UPS’s support of the Congressional Black
Caucus Foundation signifies our shared focus and commitment to improve
our communities.”
