POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Coordinator, under the direction of the Vice President, Center for Policy Analysis and Research (CPAR), will primarily be responsible for coordinating and assisting with CPAR and National Racial Equity Initiative for Social Justice (NREI) programmatic initiatives and deliverables. The ideal candidate will provide administrative support to the CPAR team and play a key role in advancing the CPAR policy programming and research agenda. Currently, CPAR initiatives include Voter Engagement, Tech Equity, and Health Equity; NREI initiatives include Criminal Justice, Economic Equity, Education, and Health Equity.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Provide administrative assistance to CPAR team for programmatic initiatives, including preparing and sending event invitations, speaker coordination and event correspondence, taking meeting and event minutes, maintaining and updating event fact sheets, and other programming needs;
- Assist the CPAR team as needed with preparing, formatting, and distributing CPAR publications such as news releases, reports, letters, infographics, briefing papers, op-eds, web content, and other publications (including the Journal for the Center for Policy Analysis and Research);
- Development of visual materials (e.g., fliers, slide decks, cue cards) to be used in program execution and marketing, both in coordination with Marketing & Communications team and through independent creation;
- Assist VP and Research Manager with dissemination of CPAR research and policy deliverables to internal and external stakeholders, such as CBCF staff, congressional offices, organizational partners, CPAR contact lists, and beyond;
- Management of CPAR databases related to policy programming, external stakeholders, congressional offices, and beyond;
- Assist CPAR team in developing policy programming and research initiatives; and
- Other administrative tasks as needed.
RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACCURACY/ACCOUNTABILITY
The Incumbent must communicate with stakeholders on a national and local level to positively influence the effectiveness of CBCF in achieving its objectives. The Program Coordinator must follow and adhere to federal, state, and local ethics laws, as well as CBCF policies governing conduct, in addition to performing their duties in an ethical, professional, and objective manner.
SPECIFICATIONS
- Knowledge: A bachelor’s degree in communications, management, social science, public policy, political science, or a related field is preferred, with a minimum of 1-2 years of event programming or related work experience desired. Experience with legislative or policy work or research is a plus.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Prior office/administrative experience and strong organizational skills are required.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills in professional settings are required.
- General knowledge of the federal legislative and regulatory processes.
- Ability to synthesize information from different sources and present information in a variety of formats for different audiences.
- Ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision, strong attention to detail, manage multiple priorities and multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Ability to work well independently or as a team player within and across departments.
- Ability to be flexible in a dynamic work environment.
- Experience with or understanding of research/policy analysis preferred.
- Prior experience with project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Asana) is a plus.
- Basic design experience (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop/InDesign) is a plus.
- Computer and Technical Proficiencies: Highly proficient skills in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and overall aptitude for technology and cloud-based software are required.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines, ability to work evening and weekend events and/or off-hours as needed. Some light travel may be required. Must work well under pressure and be able to manage simultaneous priorities and deliverables.
