The Avoice Virtual Library Project of the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) in partnership with Busboys & Poets and the DC Poetry Festival will pay special tribute in honor of the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom.
To commemorate the anniversary of that historical day, from 9-11 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 28, Busboys & Poets will host a themed open mic focused on civil rights at the 5th & K Street NW location. Spoken word performed will be dedicated to the movement. Scheduled poets for the evening include Dwayne B and Denice Frohman.
