WASHINGTON – The Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, Inc. (CBCF) today announced the first-ever editorial board for the Journal of the Center for Policy Analysis and Research (CPAR). The biennial journal, a multidisciplinary periodical, will publish original research and analyses on public policy issues related to black politics in the United States and abroad. The inaugural issue will be published in summer 2018.
The editorial board will cultivate a forum for early-career professionals whose studies have direct policy implications for programs and strategies at various levels of government and civil society that affect African American and minority communities.
“I am excited to welcome the inaugural editorial board to foster dialogue between the academic and applied fields to better inform policy, programs and practice,” said Menna Demessie, Ph.D., CBCF Vice President, Center for Policy Analysis and Research. “CBCF will work in concert with the ed board to establish a productive and intellectually stimulating space where substantive research on legislation and political processes is produced, debated and discussed by a broad range of contributors from a host of sectors and disciplines including economics, feminist studies, international relations, LGBT and sexuality studies, political science and sociology, among others.”

All CPAR journal contributions will be reviewed by the editorial board and follow the standards of rigorous scholarship and sound analysis, and will include quantitative and qualitative studies on the social impact of policy.
The Journal of the Center for Policy Analysis and Research will be distributed to Congressional Black Caucus members and their affiliated networks, and will be available digitally at cbcfinc.org.
